Why I went Zero Waste

There are lots of reasons I went zero-waste, but when it comes right down to it I did it because I wanted to make a positive impact on the world in a way that felt tangible to me. If you’d like to hear more on how I started zero-waste journey please watch the video below (I’m trying out this whole YouTube thing now).

If you didn’t watch the video (which is cool, no judgement here) I talk a lot about how there is no “right” way to be zero-waste. It’s your life and you get to decide what you do with it. And that’s awesome. But it can also lead to feelings of inadequacy in today’s social media filled world where you can compare yourself to the best people in your field at the click of a button.

I just want everyone to know that it’s ok not be doing everything perfectly (I’m not). Any step taken towards reducing your environmental impact is a huge accomplishment and should be celebrated.

So I just want to send out a huge congratulations and keep up the good work to everyone out there that is working towards less waste, no matter where you are at in your journey.

  1. Awesome video! I think you’ve done a great job of explaining why you went zero waste and how others can do the same. I love what you say about the “filter” that you now look at life through – that’s a perfect description. Please keep doing these videos!
